Extend-a-Family is quickly becoming our de-facto community meeting place our Midtown-Mount Hope neighbourhood. Located at 91 Moore Ave, right in the middle of the ‘hood, they are ideal for small gatherings. A group of Extend-a-Family individuals have a plot at the Community Garden and are happy to host the group when we need an indoor space to gather.
Karin, Greg & Maya, of Little City Farm, shared their unique offering of organic non-GMO and heirloom seeds through their Little City Farm store & studio. Just in time for spring planting local customers will be able to find seeds from their “farmers market” collection including unique varieties of peas, beans, chard, kale, greens and more – as well as pollinator-friendly and kids-garden collections. The seeds come from High Mowing Seeds, an organic seed company that they think very highly of due to their strict organic and non-GMO verification standards. Over 48+ varieties to choose from!
How to buy seeds from Little City Farm – visit us on Saturdays between 10-4 pm (from Februrary through April, and May 23 at our annual Seedling Sale), or contact Karin directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org
After a short talk with Karin, Greg & Maya about spring seed starting, there was still time in the evening to do some seed swapping!
